PakonX — End User License Agreement

PakonX licence agreement

Please read this agreement before installing PakonX. By installing or using PakonX you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not install it.

1. Licence

Erik Muradian ("the Author") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use PakonX on the number of computers your purchase covers, as activated with your licence key. PakonX may be used free for 14 days from its first start on a computer (the trial). After the trial, without an activated licence PakonX may be used to view scans only.

2. Restrictions

You may not sell, rent, lend, share or publish PakonX or your licence key; remove or bypass the licence check; or reverse engineer, decompile or modify PakonX, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.

3. Third-party components

PakonX includes Kodak/Pakon firmware and image-processing components for use with Kodak/Pakon F-135+ scanners, distributed with the permission of their owner, and Microsoft's WinUSB driver. Kodak and Pakon are trademarks of their respective owners. Open-source components are used under their own licences.

4. Your scans

Pictures you scan and save with PakonX are yours. PakonX contacts pakonx.vercel.app only to activate and check your licence and to start the trial (your licence key, a hash identifying this computer, and its name); it sends no pictures and no other data.

5. No warranty

PakonX is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The Author is not liable for any damage to equipment, film, data or business arising from its use, to the extent the law allows.

6. Ending the licence

This licence ends if you break it. You may end it at any time by uninstalling PakonX.
